If you have landed on this page, you may be wondering: what exactly is One Love Family Foundation, and is it for me?
The short answer is: we are a non-denominational nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals, families, and communities to live with greater balance, dignity, harmony, and purpose. And if any part of that resonates with you – we are probably for you.
But the longer answer matters too. The One Love Family Foundation is a specific kind of organization, doing a specific kind of work, in a specific way. This post is an honest introduction to who we are, what we do, and who we serve.
What Is One Love Family Foundation?
One Love Family Foundation is a nonprofit organization rooted in three interconnected beliefs:
First: that every person has an innate capacity for healing, growth, and purposeful living – regardless of background, circumstance, or history.
Second: that individuals do not heal optimally nor thrive in isolation. They need community – honest, reciprocal, committed relationships with other people who share their values and support their growth.
Third: that human wellbeing cannot be separated from the wellbeing of the natural world. How we relate to land, food, animals, and ecological systems matters – for the planet, and for us.
These three beliefs shape everything we do. They are not slogans. They are the organizing principles of our programs, our community, and the way we operate.
What Does One Love Family Foundation Do?
Our work falls across three interconnected pillars:
Pillar 1: Individuality – Supporting Personal Growth and Healing
We believe that a genuine community begins with genuine individuals – people who know themselves, who have done the work of understanding their own patterns, needs, and values, and who show up in relationships with honesty and care.
Our programs in this pillar include:
- Education and workshops on holistic wellness, personal growth, and whole-person healing
- Community healing circles that provide safe, facilitated space for honest sharing and support
- Resources for individuals navigating significant life transitions, grief, or personal challenge
- Programming that supports the development of inner authority, emotional intelligence, and self-knowledge
We are not a therapy practice. We are a community organization that creates conditions for personal growth and supports individuals in doing the work that helps them thrive.
Pillar 2: Community – Building Connection and Collective Resilience
We believe that human beings thrive in community – in relationships characterized by trust, reciprocity, honest communication, and shared values. We also believe that community of this quality does not happen by accident. It requires intention, skill, and consistent investment.
Our programs in this pillar include:
- Community healing circles and regular community gatherings
- Educational programming on communication, conflict resolution, and cooperative living
- Events and experiences that bring diverse people together around shared values
- Support for families who want to build stronger, more connected family lives
We are a non-denominational organization. Our community is not defined by shared religious belief, political affiliation, or demographic category. It is defined by a shared commitment to honest, compassionate engagement with yourself, each other, and the world.
Pillar 3: Oneness – Ecological Stewardship and Living in Harmony With the Earth
We believe that caring for the earth is not separate from caring for people. Ecological health and human health are deeply interconnected – and the current state of our relationship with the natural world is both a cause and a consequence of many of the personal and community struggles we see.
Our programs in this pillar include:
- Agroforestry and food forest development
- Animal sanctuary care
- Educational programming on ecological living, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable practices
- Community workdays and land stewardship projects that connect people to each other and to the land
Who Are the Founders of One Love Family Foundation?
One Love Family Foundation was co-founded by Nestor Romero and Maria Magdalena Jimenez – two people who bring complementary gifts to everything the organization does.
Nestor brings a background in community leadership, ecological vision, and the kind of systems thinking that comes from years of service in multiple sectors. Maria brings deep experience in healing arts, personal transformation, and the holistic wellness practices that anchor our individual-focused programs.
Together, they bridge creativity and logic, heart and strategy, service and sovereignty. Their partnership reflects what the organization itself is built on: the belief that diverse strengths, working in genuine collaboration, can accomplish more than any one person or approach alone. Who Does One Love Family Foundation Serve?
This is one of the most important questions we can answer clearly: we serve everyone.
Not in a vague, aspirational way – but in a genuine, structural one. Our programs are designed to be accessible to people of all backgrounds, income levels, belief systems, and life experiences.
More specifically, One Love Foundation’s programs tend to resonate most deeply with:
Individuals seeking personal growth and healing. People who know something needs to change – who are ready to do inner work and want community and education to support that process.
Families who want to live differently. Families who are looking for a more intentional, connected, value-driven way of life – and who want their children to grow up rooted in something real.
People seeking genuine community. People who are tired of surface-level social contact and want to be known honestly, contribute meaningfully, and belong to something more than an algorithm-sorted social network.
People connected to ecological concerns. People who care about the earth and want to do more than feel helpless about it – who want to learn, to act, and to be in community with others who share that care.
People from all faith backgrounds – or none. We are explicitly non-denominational. You are welcome here whether you have a deep religious practice, a personal sense of spirituality, or no interest in either. What matters is the values, not the vocabulary.
What Makes One Love Family Foundation Different?
There are many organizations doing good work in wellness, community development, and ecological stewardship. What makes One Love Foundation different is the integration of all three – and the insistence that they cannot be separated.
You cannot fully heal as an individual without community. You cannot build a truly resilient community without individuals who have done the work of knowing themselves. And you cannot sustain either without an ecological relationship with the land that is regenerative rather than extractive.
This integration is not theoretical. It shapes what we actually do – the programs we run, the spaces we create, and the way we show up with the people in our community.
We are also a young organization with deep roots and a long-term vision. We are not trying to be everything to everyone. We are trying to do this specific work well – with integrity, with genuine care, and with the willingness to grow and improve over time.
How Is One Love Family Foundation Funded?
As a nonprofit organization, One Love Family Foundation is funded through individual donations, community support, grants, and program fees (many of which are offered on a sliding scale to ensure access regardless of income).
Your donation directly supports our community programs, healing circles, ecological initiatives, and educational resources. We are a small organization, and every contribution makes a meaningful difference.
